Guidelines issued for locating solar farms
New guidelines have been released by the Ministry of Land and Resources for allocating land to solar farms, reported
China Stock News.
Permanent farmland is strictly off limits with developers advised to explore unutilised land before resorting to
land for agricultural purposes. This includes land of low value,
such as deserts and deserted grassland. China recognises three different
types of land: agricultural, construction, and unutilised. The
guidelines give favourable treatment to solar farms
by allowing them to use agricultural and unutilised land without
changing the land type. This avoids payment of usage fees for
construction land.
