China builds most skyscrapers for the ninth year

For the ninth year in a row, China has been crowned the top country for skyscraper construction judged on overall floorspace, reported ChinaNews. At the end of 2016, China had built 485 skyscrapers over 200 metres high. In 2016 alone, China built 84 of the 128 skyscrapers globally.
