The video below from The Weather Channel reports on a recent temperature increase in the Arctic of up to 35 º F above the average air temperature for this time of the year.
Such a spike has caused the melting of 32,000 square miles of Arctic sea ice in just 3 days.
Extreme increases above average seasonal temperatures have been recorded in four out of the last five years.
Steep increases in Greenhouse Gases (GHG) have been linked to the spikes in temperature in the Arctic. In April, the highest reading of CO2 (the most abundant GHG) was 410.31 parts per million (A level never recorded before).
Anomalies like these ones foretell more changes to the Climate and with it more environmental disasters.
